Core Work - Here is a collection of central work from recent years. This portfolio focuses on the intersection of place, memory and mythology. The locations span from real to imagined and are the spark of the work. Memory and personal mythology are quite intertwined and are manifest as both the textural framing and an interplay of fractal concurrences. I look back at the internal experiences as a source for the overall scene and the driver of the composites. Manuscript pages and textures often form the base as the images appear as memories. The texture of the paper, stone or paint functions not only to place the work into a remembered view but the qualities of the texture are often self similar to the structures in the scene. A texture is a record of the forces of time, a record of decay. Again, I appreciate this as a reference to time and memory.
