Textures hold a number of places in my interests. Textures are a record of the forces of time and the elements. The visual complexity has an echo of the environment in which it was taken. I look to see the base nature of a texture and accentuate the feeling with either rendered elements or by using the texture as a base for a more tethered scene. I’m also deeply drawn to depicting the passage of time and memory. I see these scenes as records from a past time that have been discovered. There is also a formal ambience that I’m drawn to in rock, paint, paper and clouds.
